Hi, I’m Sandy, a mother of two grown up sons, a wife to Dave and an eternally curious person. I find pretty much everything intriguing. And often delightful.
I’m also a professional photographer turned Marriage Officer with a passion for capturing and celebrating love. I do same-sex marriages, cross-cultural marriages—in fact, all and any types of marriages. With over 25 years of experience behind the camera and countless weddings witnessed, I bring a profound blend of creativity, uniqueness and deeply personal professionalism to every ceremony. I never take it for granted, the honour and privilege of being up there with the two of you on your wedding day. From our first meeting, to when you say “I do” – I am committed to making your wedding ceremony as magical and profound as the love you share.
What I Do
More Than Just A Marriage Celebrant
I started out as a professional photographer – I have a B-Tech Honours Degree in Photography , and have been enjoying that career for over 25 years. (Yes, I have captured around 300 weddings!).
More importantly, I am a registered and designated Marriage Officer – (witnessing so many in my photographic career prompted my interest in becoming an officiant) and I know this for sure:
I love this part of my life. There is something completely sacred about celebrating the love and commitment of two people, right in front of me, with me. It is almost as if all my experience has brought me to this here, right now. And it feels so profound.
In addition to officiating weddings, I also offer vow renewals and naming ceremonies, allowing couples and families to celebrate their love and new beginnings in a personal and heartfelt way.
I am also a registered and certified Life Coach and engage with that world with interest and energy. I offer pre-marital coaching (covering matters like Money, Conflict, Difficult Conversations, and Life Goals) if you are interested.
And then once a month, I run a storytelling platform called #Storyslam. Which gives people a chance to be vulnerable and tell a heartfelt story in front of an audience. I do love a good story.
Especially a love story.
I am also up to most types of adventure and a good road trip so am prepared to travel. More recently, I completed an Open Water Diving course so could even marry you in the ocean! Or up in the air! (I have done numerous parachute jumps!)

How Do we work Together?
We set up a meeting (virtual or face to face) where we can chat through your needs and wants for your celebration. I am completely directed by what you want. We will soon know if we connect well or not – It’s super important for me that you feel comfortable and trusting of me – it’s going to be the three of us up there after all! When we establish if we want to move forward, we then start chatting through your specific wording, process and timing etc. This could take more than one session – which is totally fine. And we will get to exactly what you want during this special time. We then discuss logistics and cost and all things wedding!
